Four-star rating following Considerate Constructors visit

Horizon Environmental was rated four-star, on a scale of one to five, following a visit from the Considerate Constructor Scheme.

Under the Scheme which was established to raise standards in the construction industry, registered companies are visited annually and monitored against a Code of Practice.  An assessment is carried out of the company’s approach to five core principles:

  • Care about Appearance
  • Respect the Community
  • Protect the Environment
  • Secure everyone’s Safety
  • Value their Workforce

The Considerate Constructor Scheme representative visited Horizon’s offices in Kent as well as our ongoing asbestos removal work at Palace of Westminster to see both how projects are managed and delivered on the ground.

Feedback stated that ‘First impressions are very good and site areas are organised and tidy. Operatives are respectful at all times and helpful wherever possible. … A caring and supportive environment is provided for the workforce and mental health awareness is promoted and encouraged.”

Ben Ives, Managing Director, Horizon Environmental said: “This was Horizon’s first assessment by the Scheme and we were delighted to receive this rating today for last year.  Thanks to the team both in London and Kent who helped us achieve four-stars.  We will be working hard towards achieving a five-star rating in our next year of auditing.”
